The purpose of the club as stated in the bylaws include advancing and encouraging the knowledge, protection, care and propagation of all birds in captivity as well as preserving and protection avian species in their native ecosystems.
The meetings include interesting and informative guest speakers. Other events such as ice cream socials, cookouts and tours round out the calendar. The library includes a large collection of reference books and bird related material and is available to members. The club hosts a bird mart twice a year and is discounted to members. A raffle is held at each meeting. Live birds and bird related items are offered. Once a year, in October, a silent auction is held.
Membership is $18 for a single and $25 for a couple, yearly. This membership entitles you to monthly magazines, special rates for space at the birds mart, and other club activities. Several area businesses offer discounts to all members.
